A journey of a story in dreams, the tale is adapted from the Buddhist Jataka
tale, which was discovered as cave paintings in the Mogao Caves at
Dunhuang, China. It shows a balance between love and being loved, and
beneath that it is a warning about returning to our true love by rejecting
obsession, greed and desire. Using cartoonised Chinese opera movements,
puppetry, mechanical objects, animation, and specially composed object
sound effects, 'A Deer of Nine Colours' try to blending visual languages
of both the east and west and experiment with a new and unique style of
visual theatre.
