Cake is the debut hour from stand-up comedian, Sam Lake. Cake is a show about our obsession with goal setting, why we feel pressure to achieve things before a certain age. And how we behave when we don't achieve them. Do we try and convince everyone everything's fine? 2020 was slated to be a big year for Sam. Not only was he set to do his first solo show, he was going to get married to the love of his life, they were going to travel, he was in the middle of a muscle-building-fitness journey, they were looking at houses. Then, just like most people's plans, everything went up in smoke around mid-March. In his hotly anticipated debut, This "thoroughly engaging larger-than-life personality" (Steve Bennett, Chortle) talks through stories about his relationship, his wedding plans and how sometimes great things can happen when you don't plan for them. Sam Lake is a stand-up comedian, presenter, writer & performer. He's recently been seen on All4's 'The Joy of Missing Out' alongside Tom Allen. As well as winning the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year award, his writing has been featured on Newsjack & Mock The Week.
